BRIGHTEYE BRISON - BRIGHTEYE BRISON
Written By www.metalprovider.com
Brighteye Brison surprised me,since their kind of music, pure progressive rock,is a rarity nowadays. Yes,
progressive rock is what these adorable guys from Sweden play!Long duration sings, music based on melody, keyboards,
easy listening(but difficult- ly composed!)music, great quality and good taste, while at times freaking solos,
labyrinthine instru- mental parts, all these are the elements of this specific and therefore so special cd.
Marillion(mainly), Kansas,Spock's Beard,Pink Floyd(influences even from their early,Syd Barret period!),some
small samples of Queen,a taste of Beatles, all these mixed in a simple and intelligent way.Since this is a,mainly,
metal site, let's be more understandable:Take Transantlantic, remove Mike Portnoy and replace him with a pure
prog rock drummer, persuade them to reduce complexity and normalize their compo- sitions and you have Brighteye
Brison! The great is that their directive force is simple but clever melodies with absolutely great taste! You'll
never hear technique becoming more important than their music.i was also aroused by the bass player: great sound,
often fretless bass and terrific inspirations.Congratulations to the vocalist/keyboarder/saxophonist/whatever as
well! Not all parts are deeply inspired, not all songs are perfect from the first up to the last minute. What does
this mean?If the album was released in 1975,it wouldn't be a surprise, but since we live in 2003,Brighteye Brison
play something we have been missing so much... Essential for romantic progressive rockers.Nostalgia...
