March 18th 2008

News has it that Brighteye Brison´s one of a kind drummer Erik Hammarström has joined The Flower Kings. This is absolutely true. We can only congratulate them to an excellent choice! Erik will ofcourse continue to play in BB in which he is such an integral part and for the last 1,5 years have helped to develop the unique sound soon to be revealed on Believers & Deceivers.

March 4th 2008

Progress Records have announced that the release date of the new Brighteye Brison album Believers & Deceivers will be May 2nd!

Believers And Deceivers is the bands most progressive output to date. It highlights a heavy, modern sounding side of the band incorporating a wide variety of influences from hard rock to fusion. Of course it stays true to their original performance using only analog and “real” instruments. The album takes a statement in some contemporary issues and races through the human psyche containing four tracks including the 20 minute The Harvest and the major epic The Grand Event clocking in over 35 minutes.

January 23rd 2008

The track "Canto XIV" for the project Inferno is now recorded and mixed. The 3-CD will include various artists doing musical interpretations of Dante´s classic book and will be released on the french label Musea by The Finnish Progressive Rock Association Colossus.

    Line up change!

For a third time Rhaal-Uma has shown his astral body here on our planet. He came with news of sadness but also of hope to us all. For some reason he wanted Daniel to go on a “very important mission”. What made him crave this is in no way possible for us to grasp. We can only rely in the fact that when Brighteye turns up in person something utterly necessary is calling. Daniel knows, as well as any other member of this band, that following such a calling is a prewritten chapter in the ultimate quest of Brighteye and can not be denied.

Daniel has been with this band since the very dawning of Earth-Brighteye so undoubtedly his departure is indeed very sad to the remaining members. However there are feelings of joy since Daniel has left for the greatest adventure under the interstellar supervision of Brighteye. Since we don’t know what this actually means we can only speculate. Some of us have a hunch that Daniel was sent to a great ongoing war of which there has been some rumors lately.

Before vaporizing into thin air, taking Daniel along with him, the great Captain assured us that he would not leave us empty-handed. Two weeks later we experienced something quite astonishing. Investigating a loud howl that had come and gone from the woods for three days, and caused the band to stay awake at night, we found behind a large oak tree not a wolf but a living MAN!! During a firm interrogation he told us that he had no recollection whatsoever of what he was doing in that ghostly territory in the first place. The poor man was in chock but we all suspected that he could be the “replacement” (Adv. 3:996) that Brighteye had promised us.

Quite rightly so. He turned out to be Zerto-Uma, who’s earth name (roughly translated) is Erik Hammarström, the greatest astral drummer that ever lived! It is more than an honour to have him as a permanent member of Brighteye Brison.

So far Erik has recorded two new tracks with us and proved to be “flawless” (as foreseen by The Vast Prophets of Zhaan).

which released the bands debut CD three years ago.
There´s no plan for any reprint.

    October 16th 2005
Here´s an update of the new BB album!
Recording sessions are officially over. The final
vocal parts were done about a week ago and last Thursday
Johan recorded the final guitars. Last but certainly not least
actor Figge Norling did the ultra groovy narration part on
    "Battle of". Result: Very cool!

As the album wants to portrait a collection
of stories, the style of the tracks are again varied.
Here are some long progressive rockers, a couple of
moody ballads and even some pop oriented stuff.
The high-quality production binds these songs together
with lots of vintage instruments and vocal arrangements
    hence that particular BB-sound appears.

Let´s have a look at the track list:

    1. STORIES - This song lays the foundation for the entire concept. Quite moody with a change of faces despite it´s short length.
    2. PATTERNS - Instantly taking over were the opening track left us this long piece is heavily based on the pipe-organ. About being stuck in, as it seems, infinate patterns of life and the struggle of breaking free.
    3. ISOLATION - Daniel takes the lead for the first ballad. Lots of mellotrons, theremin, sitar and CS-60 guaranteed!
    4. LATE - A Kristofer Eng composition with cool melodies and chord changes.
    5. IN THE CHAIR - A short pop-song with some quirky twists and lots of horns! Warning: Nutty lyrics involved.
    6. THE BATTLE OF BRIGHTEYE BRISON - Introducing "The Chronicles of Brighteye Brison". Be prepared for an intergalactic history lesson. A dark and scary monster epic with arrangements en masse.
    7. LIFE INSIDE - Per singing lead on this love song.
    8. ALL LOVE - A humongous song signed Kristofer Eng with a large symphonic sound. Kristofer on lead vocals and Daniel doing the marimba solo!
    9. WE WANNA RETURN - With a wall of Moog synthezisers the intro will remind you of Wakeman´s glory days.
    10. STORIES REPRISE - Closes the album in a magnificent way. The stories are told and we can have a cup of tea.

Kristofer and Linus have been working with Mattias Olsson
again on the upcoming debut album from Two Times The Trauma. Kristofer plays the Theremin and Linus saxes, Mellotron and Orchestron.
The album includes heavy horn arrangements, acoustic bass, great vocals etc. It´s going to be a must have for any fan of good pop music and vintage instruments.

Also a new, much better, guestbook is up! Feel free to sign!

      August 28th 2005
      Welcome back, dear BB-friends!
During summer BB have recorded the final
percussion and horn parts for the upcoming
      "Stories" album.

Linus and Narnia have for various reasons
gone seperate ways and Linus will focus
on the release of Flagship´s debut album, BB
      and some new projects.
Flagship - "Maiden Voyage" will be released
in Japan September 15 and in Europe October 24.
While waiting for this CD you are most welcome to visit
the official homepage of Flagship (www.flagship.se)
which is already up and running.

Kristofer has been scoring a new musical
in which he himself has played during the last
      couple of months.
Kris is also member of the italian(!) band
JP and Somebody Else´s Problem (on keyboards).
After some hot recording sessions in Italy they will
finally release their debut CD later this year.

When and how "Stories" will be released is
      still not known.
Brighteye Brison are currently looking for a new
      record deal
      .
A 4-track demo of the album has been sent out to
      record companies
      so we´ll see...
If you want to know what happens this is
the place to come back to!

      June 29th 2005
Last sunday BB recorded most of the
      final vocal efforts.
      Kristofer put down

of his own composition, Late and
All Love as well as acoustic guitar
      on the latter.

More vocal recordings will take place
next week. Finally BB will record some
guitar parts. Percussion will be recorded at
the Royal Concert Hall in Stockholm
      as usual.

      January 11th 2004
The last recording session in Rothe Hände Studio, owned by Mattias Olsson, took place yesterday. We started out on January 2nd and recorded for three days. All in all four days of fun and inspiring musical moments. Mattias did a great job helping out with some cool soundproduction and general brainstorming.
I play lots of different keyboards and synthezisers on the songs, lots of minimoog and mellotron this time. We tried different mellotron strings for Kristofer´s orchestral arrangement for his epic composition "All Love". Eventually we will record a real string section as well in the near future.
Kristofer also takes place by the Taurus pedals and the Theremin for a couple of tracks.
The session ended yesterday with Johan recording some nice sitar stuff.

During last autumn I worked on the musical arrangements for a studio project called "Windy City" founded by Christian Rivel who will perform the lead vocals. The band includes three Brighteye Brison members: Kristofer, Per and yours truly. The style is very symphonic reminiscent of Kansas (using a violin player) and recordings will launch next weekend in the one and only ToneZone Studios!
Further Brighteye sessions will therefor be put on hold for a short while but we´ll be back with updates A.S.A.P!
